A new opening, a changed address or an event can be useful local news. Give the newsroom the information a reader needs to act on, along with a source that can be checked.
Lead with the actual change
Explain what is new, where it is happening and when it takes effect. Include the trading name, exact street address, public website and a contact who can answer follow-up questions. Tell us whether a date is confirmed or still proposed.
Make the practical details easy to verify
- For a venue: current opening hours, menu or service link and booking arrangements.
- For an event: date, start and finish times, location, organiser, ticket link and relevant age restrictions.
- For a listing correction: the existing page and the precise information that should change.
- For access information: describe confirmed facilities rather than using a broad label without detail.
Send photographs with context
Identify the location, the date taken and the photographer. Explain that you have permission for publication and include any required credit. Please do not submit customer or staff portraits without appropriate permission. A current exterior or an image showing the actual change is more useful than an unrelated stock photograph.
Choose the right submission
Use Update a listing for directory details, Submit an event for the diary, or Send a story for a news suggestion. Keep sensitive commercial or personal information out of the public-facing description.
Editorial and advertising are separate
A submission is considered for editorial review; it does not guarantee publication. Paid opportunities are described on the advertising page and governed by our advertising disclosure. Buying advertising is not a requirement for sending a story or correcting a listing.
