The river is a useful starting point for getting to know Teneriffe. Visit Brisbane describes the river walk towards Newstead as a way to explore the precinct, with its former woolstores and surrounding dining streets.

Make it your own loop

Start with the stretch closest to you, then leave the water to explore the public streets around the woolstores. There is no need to turn a neighbourhood wander into a distance target: coffee, lunch or a ferry trip can set the pace.

Nearby New Farm offers a different outing around New Farm Park and Brisbane Powerhouse. Check your route before combining the precincts and follow any temporary path signs.

Before heading out

Carry water, choose a cooler part of the day and leave room for other path users. Waterfront access can change with local works and weather; this guide is not a live path-status service.
